The game starts, and the first thing the player sees is the left monitor screen, which currently holds the “main menu”. All other screens are turned off. The screen is only visible in part, so the player needs to learn how to rotate the camera in order to move towards it. When they do so and click on “Play”, the Main Menu transitions to the a textual chat.

In the chat, an operator will greet the player and invite them to watch an induction video.

The Main Monitor will then turn on, showing the video.

After the video, the Main Screen will stay on but it will stay in a static background/static noise state. The player needs to turn back to the operator, who will now offer to train them in their job

If the player answers “No”, the Chat Operator will simply wish them good luck with their job and the core loop will start.
<aside> 💡 When the player answers No we could have a “consent” form appear saying “I realize that by refusing training I am liable for… etc. etc.”

If the player answers “Yes”, the tutorial will start. The Chat Operator will start looking for an “ideal squad” to train the overseer with.

Once the squad is found, the view will switch to an in-progress game. Then the operator will start explaining some basic concepts and screens tied to those concepts will light up over the course of the tutorial.
“In the screen above the main one you can see your objectives” etc. etc. **

The details of the tutorial are currently a WIP. After a bunch of concepts are introduced, the squad you are following will die. Your training is now complete. The main screen will go to static noise. The Overseer will declare your training done, wish you good luck and leave the chat. The core loop will then start, as the player will find a squad that has yet to venture into the Quantum Planets.

The player will be offered a squad with randomized stats and abilities, and they will be able to accept or find another squad to connect to.
<aside> 💡 Over the entirety of the process, the squad might communicate with the player. For the example, with you accept a squad, they can shout barks like “Thank you Sir, we won’t let you down!”.
